Frederick Aloysius2 Erner (son of JOHANNES ANTON1 ERNER), born 08 September and baptized 09 September 1819(1) at Allendorf, Kreis Arnsberg, Westfalen; died 1891 or 1894 (from gravestone, already partially unreadable in 1967)(5); married 31 July 1856 at Galena, Jo Daviess, Illinois (Book B, page 055) to MARIA CATHERINE STROHMEYER who was born 09 March 1836(5) probably at Neuhaus, Westphalia, Germany and died 12 June 1882(5) at Galena.
He came to the U.S. sometime in the 1840’s. He worked as a lead miner. They lived on Hill Street at the corner of Division Street, a few houses east of Ridge Street. He was Naturalized as a U.S. citizen in Jo Daviess Circuit Court on 25 October 1856. They were members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Galena.
About 1883, Frederick and their minor children moved to Dubuque, Dubuque, Iowa, where they lived at 2187 Couler (now named Central) Avenue; later at 581 Thirteenth Street (Dubuque City Directories, 1886-1890).

Joseph P.3 Erner, born 04 March 1859(3). 1885 Iowa State Census: Joseph Erner (single, with father). In 1886, he was living at 650 Clay in Dubuque, and was a cigar maker at R. H. Heller Company (Dubuque City Directory). 1887 Clinton, Iowa City Directory (published by L. P. Allen): Erner Joseph, cigar maker, works H. F. Jacobs, 310 2d st., boards Farmers’ Home, 1st ave.
Mary Catherine3 Erner, born 12 April 1861(3); died 28 March 1886 at Dubuque, Dubuque, Iowa; married 09 June 1885 at Dubuque, Iowa (Book 5, page 68) to PETER C. PAAR who was born 1863 at Galena and died 1897-99 probably at Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota. She was a seamstress. He was a tailor. She died at the house of Peter’s aunt Mary Paar at 1304 Washington Street in Dubuque, presumably from complications of childbirth. Her obituary said that she was survived by “a child a few days old”. 1885 Iowa State Census: Mary Erner (single, with father). [Peter was married second 04 February 1890 at Dubuque to Mary M. Pfiffner and had four more children.] Only child, born at Dubuque:

Elisabeth3 Erner, born 04 December 1865(3); died 03 April 1961 at Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota (Death Certificate #1961-022865); unmarried. She was a dressmaker. She moved to Minneapolis about 1892. She lived with the family of her sister Catherine Weidlich and took care of their children after Catherine died. She inherited their house at 2723 Girard Avenue North. 1910 Census: Lizzie Erner (single, with brother-in-law William Weidlich, just below). 1920 Census: Elizabeth Erner (single, with brother-in-law Henry W. Weidlich, just below). 1930 Census: Elizabeth Erner (single, with nephew-in-law Ralph G. Anderson, below).
Catherine Mary3 Erner, born 05 October 1867(3); died 29 November 1927 at Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota; married 1892-93 at Dubuque, Dubuque, Iowa to HENRY WILLIAM WEIDLICH who was born 23 November 1867 at Dubuque and died 13 June 1933 at Minneapolis. He apprenticed as a patternmaker at A. Y. McDonald Manufacturing Company at Dubuque. They moved to Minneapolis about 1893 and he went to work at the Diamond Iron Works. In 1894, he became a draftsman. They lived at 1415 Grand Avenue Northeast until 1895, at 1828 Second Street Northeast until 1914, then at 2723 Girard Avenue North (from Minneapolis City Directories). 1910 Census: William Weidlich, page 061, visit 194/218, Minneapolis (E.D. 177), Hennepin, Minnesota. 1920 Census: Henry W. Leo D.4 Weidlich, born 10 April 1894(8); died 11 December 1935 at the Veterans Hospital at St. Cloud, Stearns, Minnesota (Death Certificate #1935-015330); married at Minneapolis to Blanche M. _______ who was born about 1886 and died 08 October 1946 at Minneapolis (Death Certificate #1946-022611). He was a mechanic. He was a WWI veteran. They had no children.
Pauline E.4 Weidlich, born 24 February 1896; died 18 April 1963 at Minneapolis (Death Certificate #1963-024350); married about 1917-18 at Minneapolis to Ralph Gerald Anderson (son of Andrew and Elizabeth Anderson) who was born 14 October 1889 at Minneapolis(8). Turnquist (son of John Turnquist and Anna Ostberg) who was born 14 May 1887 at Vasteras, Sweden(8) and died 03 June 1969 at the Veterans Hospital at St. Cloud, Stearns, Minnesota (Death Certificate #1969-015767). He was a salesman for the Remington Typewriter Company(8). He was a WWI veteran. 1930 Census: Axel H. Turnquist, page 115, visit 074/088, Minneapolis (E.D. 193), Hennepin, Minnesota. They had no surviving children.

Raymond J.4 Weidlich, born 02 October 1910(6); died 29 January 1994 at Seattle, King, Washington(6)(also Death Certificate #003286); married about 1940 at Minneapolis to Frances L. Carlson who was born 13 April 1912 in Wisconsin. He was a civil engineer. He was a WWII veteran (U.S. Army). After the war, they moved to Seattle where they lived at 2303 South West 170th Street. 1930 Census: Raymond Weidlich (single, with brother-in-law Ralph G. Anderson), sheet 07B, visit 074/088, Minneapolis (E.D. 188), Hennepin, Minnesota. They had at least one child, born at Seattle.
Johann Henry3 Erner, born 10 August 1869(3); probably never married. He was working as a clerk in 1885. He was a painter; he moved away from Dubuque about 1888. Probably 1920 Census: Henry Erner, page 112, visit 003/003, Chicago (E.D. 014), Cook, Illinois.
