He was a farmer. He registered for the WWI Draft at Galena (registration card).

Cecilia Marie5 Erner, born 25 August 1903; died 28 November 1981 at Dubuque; married first 16 February 1925 at Dubuque to Joseph Adelbert Leppert (son of William Leppert and Elizabeth Welty) who was born 14 February 1902 at Bankston, Dubuque, Iowa and died 19 November 1947 at Dubuque; married second 05 November 1955 at Dubuque to Realto W. “Ray” Rademacker (son of George Rademacher and Anna Reinhardt) who was born 11 May 1907(6) at Guttenberg, Clayton, Iowa and died 18 November 1988 at Dubuque(6). She and Joseph had five children.
Frank Joseph5 Erner, born 21 September 1906(5)(6); died 22 February 1975(5) at Galena(6); married 30 April 1935 in Menominee to Elizabeth Louise Vogt (daughter of George J. Vogt (1887-1962) and Julia M. Schonhoff (1887-1969), both buried at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery) who was born 16 April 1912(5)(6) in Menominee and died 16 January 1997(5)(6) at the Southwest Health Center Nursing Home at Cuba City, Grant/Lafayette, Wisconsin. In 1950, they moved to a farm near Galena. They were members of St. Michael’s Catholic Church at Galena. He was a mechanic for George Klein & Son at Galena. They are buried at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery. They had five children.

Allgeier (daughter of Joseph Carl Allgeier (1873-1945) and Mary Magdalena Eichhorn (1882-1954), both buried at East Dubuque Cemetery) who was born 01 January 1917(6) at East Dubuque and died 23 January 1995(6) at Big Meadows Nursing Home at Savanna, Carroll, Illinois. [Her ancestry is in Jo Ann and Jim Cornelius’ GEDCOM.] He was a World War II veteran (U.S. Army Air Corps). He was a mechanic and a car salesman. They are buried at Dubuque Memorial Gardens at Dubuque, Dubuque, Iowa. They had three children.
Melvin William5 Erner, born 27 April 1924; married 24 May 1949 at Shullsburg, Lafayette, Wisconsin to Mary Jean Martin (daughter of John Martin and Honora Irene Boyle) who was born 12 August 1928 at Shullsburg. He worked for Kelly-Springfield Tire Company at Freeport, Stephenson, Illinois. They had five children.
