They came to the U.S. on the ship Zurich which sailed from Havre and arrived at New York on 06 April 1858. Peter’s younger brother John, Eva’s mother, and Eva’s uncle Antoine Michelet and his family all came together on the same ship. They came straight to Jo Daviess County.
He was a shoemaker and a farmer; he also owned a grocery store. He was naturalized as a U.S. citizen on 14 March 1866 in Jo Daviess County Circuit Court.
