John Wendel Schnellbacher (son of Heinrich Jacob Schnellbächer and Eva Marie Adam, from Klein-Bieberau, Hesse-Darmstadt), born 22 August 1807 at Wersau, Kreis Dieburg, Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany; died 31 May 1890 in Melrose, Adams, Illinois; married at Wersau to Anna Maria Riedel (daughter of Johannes Riedel and Anna Meyer Lautenschläger) who was born 02 May 1807 at Wersau and died 10 August 1895 aged “87” years at Quincy (Quincy Daily Herald, issue of 10 August 1895).
They arrived at New Orleans on 01 January 1840; at Quincy on 22 February 1840. He was a farmer, near Mill Creek in Adams County.
