Maria Catherine Freiburg (daughter of Christoph Freiburg), born 21 November and baptized 22 November 1844(1) at Allendorf, Kreis Arnsberg, Westphalia, Germany;  died 08 November 1915;  married 29 October 1867 at Quincy, Adams, Illinois, USA to John Herman Broemmel who was born 24 April 1831 in Prussia, Germany and died 03 August 1908 at Quincy.

She came to the U.S. on the ship Germania which sailed from Hamburg and arrived at New York City on 07 September 1863; he came to the U.S. in 1857 (from 1900 census). He worked as a saw-filer. They lived at 915 Vine Street in Quincy.

Herman Bernard Broemmel, born about August 1869;  married 18 October 1894 at Quincy (License #9273) to Rosa W. Menne (daughter of John and Anna Menne, both born in Prussia) who was born about December 1873 in Illinois and died 23 February 1933 at Quincy (Death Certificate #2010112). Elizabeth G. Broemmel, born about 1871;  died 29 March 1937 at Quincy (Death Certificate #00195);  married 03 May 1893 at Quincy (License #8450) to Bernard W. Schlettert (son of Bernard Schlettert and Christina Fens) who was born about 1869 at Quincy and died 20 September 1928 at Quincy (Death Certificate #2010403). Schlettert, born about 1903.

John Broemmel, born about October 1872;  died 27 July 1874 aged 01 year, 09 months (records of St. Francis’ Church at Quincy).

Casper Broemmel, born 03 January 1876(8);  married after 1918 in Colorado to Theresa ______ who was born 07 January 1886(6) and died December 1975 at Littleton, Arapahoe, Colorado(6). Bernard Anthony Broemmel, born 05 July 1883(6)(8);  died October 1964(6);  married 1906-07 at Quincy to Antoinette Elisabeth Holtkamp (daughter of ______ Holtkamp and Carolina ______) who was born 28 April 1885(6) in Illinois and died May 1983 at Quincy(6).
