John Henry Freiburg (son of Christoph Freiburg), born 06 April and baptized 07 April 1854 at Allendorf, Kreis Arnsberg, Westphalia, Germany(1);  died 09 February 1933 at Quincy, Adams, Illinois, USA (Death Certificate #2010082);  married 06 November 1884 at Quincy (License #3526) to Johannah Catherine Tofall (daughter of Conrad Tofall and Katherine Mary Gotting) who was born 20 March 1855 at Quincy and died 24 September 1926 at Quincy (Death Certificate #2010429).

He came to the U.S. in February 1881. He was a shoemaker; he worked for the firm of Freiburg and Schultheis. He was Naturalized as a U.S. citizen on ______?. They lived at 320 Oak Street in Quincy.

[She was the daughter of Conrad Tofall who was born about 1819 in Prussia, Germany, and Catherine ______ who was born about 1822 in Hannover, Germany. Conrad was a carpenter.]

Casper Henry Freiburg, born 11 August 1885(8)(but death certificate says 1884);  died 20 March 1926 aged 41 years, 07 months, 09 days at St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri (Death Certificate #010557);  married after the 1910 census to Anna ?Mueller (daughter of Charles Luettig and Elizabeth Hay, both born in Germany) who was born 01 April 1884 at St. Louis and died 01 January 1927 aged 42 years, 09 months at St. Louis (Death Certificate #002539). He was a foreman at a cement factory; later he worked at a cardboard box factory(8). He registered for the WWI Draft at St. Louis city, Missouri. 1910 Census: Henry Freiburg (single, boarder in hotel), page 250, line 15, St. Ferdinand, St. Louis, Missouri. They are buried at Calvary Cemetery at St. Louis.

Frank Eberhard Freiburg, born 10 February 1887(8);  died 04 August 1959 at Quincy;  married 08 October 1913 at Quincy to Mary K. Duesterhaus who was born 27 June 1891 at Quincy and died 03 September 1971 at Quincy. He was a woodworker, later a clerk, in a showcase factory. They lived at 1327 Spring Street in Quincy. 1920 Census: Frank Freiburg, page 046, visit 118/147, Quincy (5th Ward), Adams, Illinois. 1930 Census: Frank E. Freiburg, page 066, visit 129/136, Quincy (E.D. 54), Adams, Illinois. They had six children. Known children:  Edith K. Freiburg, born about October 1918;  Robert J. Freiburg, born 06 January 1921(6), died 12 February 1996 at Quincy(6), married to Alberta J. ______ who was born about 1921, he was a WWII veteran (U.S. Army SN:20604282);  Donald W. Freiburg, born 26 March 1924(6), died 30 June 2007 at Quincy(6), married to Anna M. ______ who was born December 1925, he was a WWII veteran (U.S. Army SN:36449282);  Helen? Freiburg (“son”), born about 1928.

Joseph Aloysius Freiburg, born 17 March 1889(8);  died 29 October 1951 at Quincy;  married 17 May 1923 at Hannibal, Marion, Missouri to Helen S. Schultz who was born 06 June 1901 at Burlington, Des Moines, Iowa and died 13 November 1952 at Quincy. He was a wood finisher in a showcase factory; he later worked at the Little Wheel Works. He was a WWI veteran. 1930 Census: Joseph A. Freiburg, page 233, visit 212/243, Quincy (E.D. 47), Adams, Illinois. Known child:  Catherine Eileen Freiburg, born 29 June 1921(6), died 12 March 2006 at Quincy(6), married 23 December 1940 at Keokuk, Lee, Iowa to Robert Louis Bolte (son of Louis S. Bolte and Delores Jones) who was born 05 August 1920(6) at Burlington, Des Moines, Iowa and died 06 November 1985 at Quincy(6), he was a WWII veteran (U.S. Navy).

Katherine Johannah Freiburg, born 12 March 1892;  died 17 May 1965 at Quincy;  married 07 June 1916 at Quincy to John Harmon Broeker (son of Bernard J. and Mary W. Broeker) who was born 13 May 1890(6)(8) at Quincy and died 08 March 1969 at Quincy(6). He was a machinist for the Otis Elevator Company. 1920 Census: H. Arthur R. Broeker, born 20 July 1917(6);  died 29 September 1991(6).

Florence A. Broeker, born 21 December 1919 (from obituary, but SSDI says 22 December(6));  died 21 September 1999 (from obituary, but SSDI says 22 September(6)) at Quincy;  married 20 May 1939 to Marion E. Attey (son of Richard Attey and Cora Leedom) who was born 25 June 1917(6) at Novinger, Adair, Missouri and died 04 April 1985 at Quincy(6). He was a city fireman. He was a WWII veteran (U.S. Navy).

Mary Catherine Broeker, born about January 1929;  married ______ Drummond. They moved to Missouri.

Ida Helen Freiburg, born 02 June 1893(5);  died 08 July 1894(5);  buried at St. Boniface Cemetery at Quincy.

Anna Katherine Freiburg, born 15 December 1895;  died 29 February 1940 at Quincy (Death Certificate #000098);  married 27 November 1927 to Carl H. Altgilbers who was born 29 September 1888(8) in Illinois and died 17 October 1939 at Freeport, Adams, Illinois (Death Certificate #000524). He was a fireman; she was a seamstress. 1930 Census: Carl Altgilbers, page 254, visit 320/381, Quincy (E.D. 48), Adams, Illinois. Known child:  Joan Altgilbers, born about October 1929.

Edward Bernard Freiburg, born 09 November 1897(8);  died 25 June 1961 at Quincy;  married 25 May 1917 at Paris, Monroe, Missouri to Margaret A. Kraft (possibly her second marriage)(daughter of Simon Kraft and Catherine Schwartz) who was born 09 March 1886 at Quincy and died 09 March 1952 at Quincy. They lived at 630 North 12th Street in Quincy; later at 709 North 16th Street. He was a tool crib supervisor at a pump factory. [She apparently had a son from a previous marriage, recorded as “John Freiburg, stepson”, age 16, in the 1920 census.] 1920 Census: Edwin B. Freiburg, page 041, visit 137/154, Quincy (5th Ward), Adams, Illinois. 1930 Census: Ed Freiburg, page 018, visit 119/122, Quincy (E.D. 51), Adams, Illinois. They possibly had no children.
