Christoph Joseph August [Clute] Freiburg (son of CASPAR CLUTE gnt FREIBURG), born and baptized 28 May 1819(1) at Allendorf, Kreis Arnsberg, Westphalia, Germany [see also NOTE]; died 31 January 1875 at St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri, USA (Book 6B, page 143); married first 17 October 1848 at St. Louis (Book 4, page 164) to Rosa Beck (daughter of Johann Beck and Mary Wiedman) who was born 23 June 1823 in Baden, Germany and died 11 February 1870 at St. Louis (Book 3, page 209); married second 14 September 1874 at St. Louis (Book 16, page 532) to Anna Maria (Kirkloh or Kerloh) Keinholz (apparently her second or third marriage) who was born about 1832 in Westphalia, Germany.
He was a shoemaker; later he was a farmer. He came to the U.S. with his older brother Johannes on the ship Columbia which sailed from Bremen, Germany and arrived at Baltimore on 27 June 1842 [NOTE: see entry #44 on the passenger list: Johann “Klote” from Allendorf, 3 men, _? women, 1 child 0-1 years of age].
