Johann Bernhard Koch (son of John Liborius Koch and Gertrud Leonarde), born 04 December 1799 at Amecke, Kreis Arnsberg, Westphalia, Germany;  died 27 June 1880 at Quincy, Adams, Illinois, USA (Death Certificate #1772);  married 14 February 1830(1) at Allendorf to Anna Maria Koenig who was born 01 December 1806 at Allendorf and died 31 January 1869 at Quincy.

He apprenticed as a saddle and harness maker in Allendorf. After traveling around Europe as a journeyman, he came to the U.S. to Quincy in 1837. He later went back to Allendorf to bring his family to America; they came on the ship Nimrod which sailed from Bremen and arrived at New Orleans on 19 November 1839. They lived at 28 North 8th Street in Quincy. He began the Koch Harness Company, which remained in business for more than 100 years. He was one of the founders of the German Catholic Society in Quincy.

John Liborius Koch, born 28 July and baptized 29 July 1832(1);  died 11 June 1889 at Quincy;  married 08 January 1863 at Quincy to Anna Louise Albrecht who was born 09 March 1839 at Brakel, Westphalia, Germany and died 25 March 1913 at Quincy. He was a saddle and harness maker, and continued the family business. Their home and his saddlery were at 612 Maine Street. He was a volunteer fireman for 22 years. Philip B. Koch, born 13 October 1863;  died 17 November 1941 aged 78 years at Quincy (Death Certificate #000573);  married first 28 November 1899 at Quincy (License #12273) to Catherine M. Kohl who died 1917 at Quincy;  married second to Susan Huser who was born 08 June 1886 in Missouri. He was a saddle and harness maker. He continued the family harness business. He had no children.

(Reverend) Maximilian A. Koch, born 15 April 1866;  died 20 December 1901 in the Adirondack mountains in New York State;  unmarried. He was a Catholic priest; he served as curate at the Cathedral at Belleville, St. Clair, Illinois.

Anna Frances Koch, born 30 January 1868;  died 01 January 1946 at Chillicothe, Livingston, Missouri (Death Certificate #000573);  married 25 November 1891 at Quincy (License #7585) to Peter Joseph Rupp who was born 13 April 1862 in Hesse-Nassau, Germany and apparently died before the 1910 census at Chillicothe. 1910 Census: Mrs. P. Rupp (widow), page 060, visit 161/176, Chillicothe (2nd Ward), Livingston, Missouri. 1920 Census: Frances Rupp (widow), page 235, visit 077/082, Chillicothe (2nd Ward), Livingston, Missouri. 1930 Census: Frances Rupp (widow), page 040, visit 091/105, Chillicothe (2nd Ward), Livingston, Missouri. Children, most born at Chillicothe:  Peter Oscar Rupp, born 22 December 1892 at Quincy(8), he was a junk dealer(8), he registered for the WWI Draft in Livingston County, Missouri;  Maximillian George Rupp, born 25 November 1894 at Quincy;  Paul Louis Rupp, born 21 November 1896 at Quincy(8), he registered for the WWI Draft in Livingston County, Missouri, he owned a junk and coal yard, 1930 Census: (single, with mother);  Angela Rupp, born 07 August 1899, she was a stenographer, 1930 Census: (single, with mother [but later scratched out] );  Laura E. Rupp, born 28 December 1901;  John Christopher Rupp, born 27 July 1904, he was manager of a garage, 1930 Census: (single, with mother);  Hildegarde Rupp, born 08 February 1907, she was a bookkeeper, 1930 Census: (single, with mother);  Bernard Rupp, born about September 1909, 1930 Census: (single, with mother).

Theresa Koch, born 17 April 1870;  died 20 February 1956 at St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri;  unmarried. She was a Catholic nun. She joined the Order of the School Sisters of Notre Dame as Sister Ignatia; she eventually became Mother Superior of the order in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana.

Bernard C. Koch, born 02 May 1872(7);  died 30 September 1945 in San Diego County, California(7). He worked for the U.S. Postal Service; he lived at Chicago, Cook, Illinois; later at Oakland, California.

(Doctor) John Adolph Koch, born 17 May 1874;  died 20 April 1950 aged 75 years at Danville, Vermilion, Illinois (Death Certificate #018119);  married 04 October 1898 to Louisa Irvin (daughter of (Lieutenant) Joseph M. Irvin) who was born 01 February 1871 at Watsontown, Union, Pennsylvania and died 14 January 1940 at Quincy (Death Certificate #000022). He graduated from Columbian (now George Washington) University in 1897 and also from Berlin University in Germany. He was a pharmacist and a medical doctor. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during WWI.

Adolph Adam Koch, born 15 May 1877(7);  died 26 December 1947 at Fresno, Fresno, California(7);  married 01 June 1910 at Washington, D.C. to Louise Court who was born about 1881 at Washington, D.C. He was a lawyer. He was also in the real estate and mortgage businesses. Known children:  Mathilde A. Koch, born about 1911;  Max P. Koch, born 04 January 1919(7), died 02 April 1988 at Fresno(7).

Edith Anna Koch, born 09 September 1879;  died 18 May 1904 at Quincy;  unmarried.

Herman Joseph Koch, born 05 January 1884;  died 09 July 1884.

Maria Anna Koch, born 14 February and baptized 16 February 1835(1);  died 1928 in the St. Vincent Home for the Aged at Quincy;  married 25 October 1853 at Quincy to Ferdinand H. Cramer who was born about 1828 in Oldenburg, Germany and died 03 July 1861 at Quincy. He was a teacher; he later was partner in a pork packing business. He was a crew leader in the Quincy Volunteer Fire Department. A long story about Mary was published in the Quincy Herald-Whig, issue of 14 February 1928, on the occasion of her 93rd birthday. 1860 Census: Ferdinand Kramer, page 265, visit 1930/2056, Quincy (5th Ward), Adams, Illinois. 1870 Census: Mary Cramer (with father). Westphalen.

Catherine Anna Maria Koch, born 03 January 1841;  died 26 July 1843.

Franz J. Koch, born 06 May 1843;  died 27 May 1846.

Joseph J. Koch, born 16 September 1845;  died 18 March 1846.

Maria Frances Koch, born 08 February 1847;  died 20 July 1927 at Chicago, Cook, Illinois;  married to John Henry Hense who was born 17 January 1831 in Prussia and died 21 March 1876 at Central City, Colorado Territory. Bernard Henry Koch, born 28 December 1849;  died 03 May 1903 at Chicago, Cook, Illinois;  married 26 October 1886 at Quincy (License #4631) to Eva Margaret Durholt (daughter of Henry C. Durholt and Catharine Grone) who was born 14 March 1859 (or 1860) in Illinois and died 26 June 1921 at Chicago (Death Certificate #6015862). He was a cattle drover. 1900 Census: B. H.
