NOTE 1. When I first visited Galena in the late 1960s, the pastor let me browse through the original churchbooks. Since then, the Archdiocese of Chicago has closed all of their churchbooks to the public. I had heard a few years ago that the FHL was going to film them, but they haven’t appeared in the FHL Catalog yet.
