Jonas Baltzley5 Orner (Felix4, Felix3, felix2, Ulrich1), born 06 September 1828 in Menallen (now Butler), Adams, Pennsylvania;  died 18 March 1915 in Franklin Grove, Lee, Illinois;  married 23 September 1852 in Adams County (FHL film #020644, item 1; also Adams Sentinel, issue of 27 September 1852) to Juliana Kime (daughter of Johannes Keim and Sarah Group) who was born 01 January 1831 in Pennsylvania and died 24 February 1915 in Franklin Grove. He was a master carpenter.

They had seven children, one of whom died before the 1900 census. Children, born in Butler:

Florence Virginia6 Orner, born 24 June and christened 23 October 1853 (Sponsors: parents)(6);  died 01 March 1865 in Butler(14). She is buried at Fairview Cemetery at Arendtsville, Adams, Pennsylvania.

Elmore Orn Ephraim6 Orner, born 27 December 1856;  died 09 July 1934 at Franklin Grove, Lee, Illinois (Death Certificate #520286);  married first 24 February 1878 to SUSAN SAVANNAH BEAMER who was born 11 March 1857 and died 09 April 1898 at Franklin Grove;  married second 1899-1900 to Hannah L. Riddelsbarger (daughter of Samuel Riddelsbarger and Mary A. Foreman) who was born 20 November 1858(14) in Illinois and died 27 January 1936(14) at Franklin Grove (Death Certificate #002420). Earl Ellsworth7 Orner, born 01 September 1878(40) in Pennsylvania;  died 1953;  married to Alberta Koser (daughter of Harry Koser and Frances M. Gitt) who was born 1877 in Pennsylvania and died 1964. He was a station agent for the Chicago and North Western Railroad. He served as Village President of Wilmette, Cook, Illinois. 1910 Census: Earl E. Orner, page 209, visit 385/424, Wilmette village, Cook, Illinois. Known child:  Ralph J. Orner, born 15 May 1908(17), died 11 August 1982 at Evanston, Cook, Illinois(17);  married to Cynthia Richard who was born 10 July 1913(17) at Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts and died 15 August 2001 at Evanston(17).

Ralph Beamer7 Orner, born 1882;  died 01 January 1897 while ice-skating with a friend. They both broke through the ice and drowned.

Virginia D.7 Orner, born about June 1884 in Illinois;  married 1905-06 to Howard W. Crawford (son of Milton A. and Mary M. Crawford) who was born about 1877 in Illinois and apparently died before the 1920 census. He was a farmer; she later was a dressmaker. 1910 Census: Howard W. Crawford (widow), page 071, visit 071/071, Franklin Grove village, Lee, Illinois. 1920 Census: Vergie Crawford (widow), page 002, visit 076/077, Franklin Grove village, Lee, Illinois. They had at least one other child who died young. Known child:  Lois M. Crawford, born about 1908.

Elizabeth Amy7 Orner, born about February 1888 in Illinois;  died 1963;  married 1911-12 to Albert William Crawford (son of Albert William Crawford and Carrie Lincoln Whitney) who was born 19 July 1884(40) in Iowa. He was a farmer. 1920 Census: A. W. Crawford Jr, page 075, visit 217/217, Franklin Grove village, Lee, Illinois. 1930 Census: A. William Crawford, page 011, visit 072/073, China, Lee, Illinois. No children living with them in 1920 or 1930.

Olive Eugenia6 Orner, born 03 February and christened 29 May 1859 (Sponsors: parents)(6);  died 07 November 1953 at Dixon, Lee, Illinois;  married 25 December 1877 to Isaac Hayes Halderman who was born 30 March 1850 in Pennsylvania, apparently later divorced. He was a clerk. 1880 Census: I. H. Halderman (widow, with son Bela), page 070, visit 042/042, Franklin Grove village, Lee, Illinois. 1930 Census: Jennie O. Halderman (widow), page 001, visit 013/013, Franklin Grove village, Lee, Illinois. Known children:  Dollie Gazelle Halderman, born 14 March 1879 in Kansas, married 22 June 1893 to William Carl Williams;  Beulah N. Halderman, born 25 March 1883, died 16 May 1885;  Ward Byron Halderman, born 14 March 1886, died 12 May 1887;  Bela Rhea Halderman, born 02 May 1888 at Kansas City, Kansas(40), died 1936, he was a printer, editor and publisher(40), 1930 Census: (single, with mother).

Ida Gazelle6 Orner, born 09 October 1862;  died 01 June 1951. 1880 Census: Gazelle Orner (with John K. Demerest), page 183, visit 061/067, Gettysburg, Adams, Pennsylvania.

Oscar Diego6 Orner, born 31 May 1867;  died 31 January 1919 at Franklin Grove, Lee, Illinois (Death Certificate #008932);  married 1893-94 to Grace _______ who was born about June 1873 in Illinois. He was a house carpenter. 1900 Census: Oscar D. Orner, page 083, visit 295/295, Franklin Grove village, Lee, Illinois. 1910 Census: Oscar D. Ornerr, page 072, visit 024/024, Franklin Grove village, Lee, Illinois. They had one child who died before the 1900 census.

Edward Leigh6 Orner, born about 1875;  married about 1905 to Grace Elizabeth Johnston (daughter of John Philemon Johnston and Lucy Dack or Duck) who was born 26 June 1882 in Walkerton, Bruce, Ontario, Canada (Registration #002355) and died 17 August 1966 in Hennepin County, Minnesota (Death Certificate #1966-021849). He worked for a railroad. They were living at Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota in 1907 (from son’s birth record). [She was married second 1920s to William H. Wharton (his third or later marriage) who was born about 1849 in Ohio.] Known child, born in Canada:

John Balzer Orner, born 25 March 1907(7)(8) in Walkerton (Registration #011118);  died 11 December 1974 at Long Beach, Los Angeles, California(7)(8). 1920 Census: John B.
