He was a farmer. Civil War service: Company C, 39th Indiana Infantry Regiment and Company C, 8th Indiana Cavalry Regiment [NOTE: there was also a J. L. Bockoven in Company C, 39th Indiana Infantry Regiment with him]. Reuben received an invalid pension. Elvira J. received a widow's pension.
