Jacob6 Arner (Daniel5, Jacob4, Johannes3, ulrich2, Ulrich1), born 17 August 1856(14) in Franklin, Carbon, Pennsylvania;  died 23 August 1927(14) in Franklin;  married to Ellamanda Walck (daughter of Simon Walck and Sabrina Stout, and sister of Milton Walck who married Jacob’s sister Elemina) who was born 25 October 1861(14) and died 10 March 1915(14) in Franklin. He was a farmer.

1920 Census: Jacob Arner (widower, with sister Elemina Walck), page 029, visit 035/038, Harrity District, Carbon, Pennsylvania.

They are buried at St. Paul’s (Big Creek) Church in Franklin, (their gravestone).

Celesta Rebecca7 Arner, born 21 July 1879(28)(but SSDI says 27 July(17));  died 23 August 1970 at Lehighton, Carbon, Pennsylvania(17);  married 25 December 1900 in Carbon County (Book 4, page 390) to WILLIAM IRVIN SOLT who was born 03 May 1877(28)(40)(49) in Carbon County and died 05 November 1957. He served as the Tax Collector in Franklin Township(49). 1920 Census: William I. Solt, page 032, visit 092/100, Harrity District, Carbon, Pennsylvania. 1930 Census: William Solt, page 147, visit 534/534, Franklin, Carbon, Pennsylvania. Known children, born in Franklin:

Ella A.8 Solt, born 25 July 1901(17);  died July 1978 at Lehighton, Carbon, Pennsylvania(17);  married 1925-26 to Walter J. Heintzleman who was born 21 May 1901(17) and died 03 February 1973 at Lehighton(17). He was a fireman at New Jersey Zinc Company at Palmerton, Carbon, Pennsylvania. He was a WWI veteran. 1930 Census: Walter J. Heintzleman, page 127, visit 022/022, Franklin, Carbon, Pennsylvania. Known child:  Ruth C. Heintzleman, born about 1927.

Ruth Pauline8 Solt, born 22 May and died 01 June 1904;  buried at St. Paul’s (Big Creek) Church (Section A, row 16).

Anna C.8 Solt, born about 1906;  married to Francis Klinger.

Amelia J.8 Solt, born 01 October 1909(17);  died 25 October 1995 at Jim Thorpe, Carbon, Pennsylvania(17);  married after the 1930 census to Harry Rimbey.

(Reverend) Paul Irvin8 Solt, born 20 August 1912(17);  died 20 February 1994 at Leesport, Berks, Pennsylvania(17);  married after the 1930 census to Beatrice M. Berger (daughter of Milton E. and Minnie Berger) who was born 30 April 1920(17) at Palmerton, Carbon, Pennsylvania  and died 27 October 1996 at Leesport(17).

William S.8 Solt, born 17 January 1917(17);  died 08 May 2002(17) at Palmerton, Carbon, Pennsylvania;  married after the 1930 census to Vivian Green.

Clarence8 Solt, twin, born 15 May 1920(17);  died 12 February 2003 at Lehighton(17);  married after the 1930 census to Clara Hahn.

Florence A.8 Solt, twin, born 15 May 1920;  died 06 February 2006 at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury, Lehigh, Pennsylvania;  married to Mark W. Christman who was born 05 March 1915(17) and died 26 October 1966(17) at Lehighton. They are buried at Franklin Heights Cemetery at Weissport, Carbon, Pennsylvania. They had five children.

Charles William7 Arner, born 29 March 1882(17)(40) in Franklin, Carbon, Pennsylvania(49);  died 15 August 1966 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania(17);  married 12 October 1907(N) to Ida Amelia Costenbader (possibly daughter of William and Elizabeth J. Kostenbader) who was born about June 1887 in Pennsylvania. He was a blacksmith; later he was a foreman in a zinc works. 1910 Census: Charles W. Jacob Milton8 Arner, born 07 July 1908(17);  died March 1976 at Lehighton(17);  married 16 September 1933(S) to Helen Dudler (daughter of Charles Dudla/Dudler and Anna Semak) who was born 19 November 1913 at Parryville, Carbon, Pennsylvania and died 14 December 2012 aged 99 years at Weatherly, Carbon, Pennsylvania. He was an aviation pioneer. He was a test pilot for General Motors Corporation military aircraft during WWII. He built the Carbon County Airport, which was later renamed Jake Arner Memorial Airport in his honor. They are buried at Gnaden Huetten Cemetery at Lehighton. Known child: Byron Arner.

Mary May8 Arner, born 15 April 1910(17);  died 22 March 1995 at Glen Riddle Lima, Delaware, Pennsylvania(17);  married first after the 1930 census to Ralph O. Bachman (son of Oscar W. Bachman and Ida Wehr) who was born about 1906 at Slatington, Lehigh, Pennsylvania and died 26 October 1941 in an automobile accident near Slatington, Lehigh, Pennsylvania(S);  married second 1946 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Rollin MacManiman(S).

William Charles Edward8 Arner, born 04 September 1912(17);  died 27 February 1995 at Lehighton(17);  married to Alberta R. Ritter (daughter of Roland L. Ritter and Minnie G. Beltz) who was born 16 November 1916(17) in Carbon County and died 07 December 2005 at Weatherly, Carbon, Pennsylvania(17)(also Lehighton Times-News, issue of 10 December 2005).

Carrie Alberta8 Arner, born 30 July 1916(17);  died November 1984 at Wenonah, Gloucester, New Jersey(17);  married to Charles Chimich who was born 19 October 1912(17) and died October 1977 at Wenonah(17).

(Sergeant) George L.8 Arner, born 18 December 1924(17);  died 31 March 1999 at Lehighton(17);  married 25 July 1949 to Mabel Bertha Brobst (daughter of Harold Ernest Brobst and Bertha M. Weaver) who was born 17 March 1928(17) in Lehigh County and died 08 May 1998 at Lehighton(17). He was a truck driver and a bus driver; he was also a licensed pilot. He was a WWII veteran (Army SN: 33622665).

Thomas Robert7 Arner, born 10 March 1884(40) in Franklin, Carbon, Pennsylvania(49);  died 1947(14);  married 12 February 1907(N) in Carbon County to Matilda May Serfass (daughter of William F. sERFASS and Ida L. mAURER) who was born 09 November 1887(14) in Pennsylvania and died May 1946(14). He was a cooper; later he was a foreman at New Jersey Zinc Company at Palmerton, Carbon, Pennsylvania(49). 1910 Census: Thomas R. Kleintop) who was born 12 April 1908(17) in Pennsylvania and died 08 May 1991(17) at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury, Lehigh, Pennsylvania. He was a carpenter; later he was a kiln operator at New Jersey Zinc Company at Palmerton, Carbon, Pennsylvania. 1930 Census: Arlington J. Serfass, page 213, visit 021/021, Parryville, Carbon, Pennsylvania. They are buried at Towamensing Cemetery at Palmerton. They had at least three children. Known child:  Dale Franklin Serfass, born 06 May 1928, married 1949 in Carbon County to Miriam D. Wolfe (daughter of Harry Wolfe and Florence Fenstermacher), he was a bricklayer, they moved to Bethlehem, Northampton, Pennsylvania and later to Florida;  Bruce R. Serfass, married Theresa ______, they moved to South Berwick, York. Maine;  Marlene M. Serfass, married ______ Steele, they moved to Torrance, Los Angeles, California.

Ellen Amanda8 Arner, born 13 March 1910;  died 03 February 1991 at Summit Hill, Carbon, Pennsylvania;  married after the 1930 census to Neal Campbell. 1930 Census: Ella A. Arner (with parents); and Ella Arner (single, student nurse at Hospital & Nurse’s Home), page 035A, line 85, Palmerton borough, Carbon, Pennsylvania.

Minerva Irene8 Arner, born 09 May 1913(17);  died 13 December 1994 at Allentown, Lehigh, Pennsylvania(17)(also Allentown Morning Call, issue of 15 December 1994);  married August 1946 to (Chief Warrant Officer) WALTER E. sEAMAN (son of Harvey Seaman and Mary E. Baker) who was born 08 August 1918(17) at Allentown and died 11 July 2004 at Allentown(17). He was a WWII veteran (U.S. Army).

Malcolm Robert8 Arner, born 10 June 1915(17);  died 19 July 1974(17) in Carbon County;  married 08 January 1936 in Carbon County (License #21384) to Violet May Stroup (daughter of Thomas A. Stroup and Rosa May Costenbader) who was born 28 July 1920(17) at Palmerton, Carbon, Pennsylvania and died 01 February 1999 at Boalsburg, Centre, Pennsylvania(17). He was an insurance agent. He served two terms as Mayor of Parryville; she served as Postmaster there from 1944 to 1960. They had at least two children.

Amandus Wesley7 Arner, born 26 January 1890(14)(40)(49);  died 27 September 1962(14);  married 24 June 1911(N) to Lulu M. Sebring (daughter(S) of Jacob Sebring and Katherine Kunkel) who was born 28 November 1890(14) in Carbon County and died 13 January 1968(14). He was a fireman for the Lehigh Valley Railroad. 1920 Census: Amandus W. Arner, page 031, visit 062/070, Harrity District, Carbon, Pennsylvania. 1930 Census: Amandus Arner, page 138, visit 352/352, Franklin, Carbon, Pennsylvania. They are buried at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery near Weissport, Carbon, Pennsylvania; (their gravestone). Known children:

John Jacob Arner, born 09 February 1914;  died 05 May 1974;  married(S) to Mary L. Hill (daughter of Austin A. Hill and Minnie Laux) who was born 23 June 1911(17) at Lehighton, Carbon, Pennsylvania and died 30 April 2001 at Lehighton(17). He was a locomotive engineer for the Lehigh Valley Railroad. They had three children.

Catherine A.8 Arner, born about October 1919;  married Joseph Kolick.
