He was a farmer.

They are buried at Vandeburg Cemetery in Kingston.

Catherine5 Aurner, born about November 1831;  married 26 December 1854 in DeKalb County, Illinois (Book A, license #1047) to Ira Wellever (son of Michael and Rachel Woolever, both born in Pennsylvania) who was born about March 1831 in Michigan. He was a farm laborer; later a gardener. 1860 Census: Ira Weleaver, page 232, visit 1731/1727, Sturgis, St. Joseph, Michigan. 1880 Census: Ira Wellever, page 495, visit 573/690, Sturgis, St. Joseph, Michigan. 1900 Census: Ira Wellever, page 210, visit 031/032, Sturgis, St. Joseph, Michigan. They probably had no children. Possible child:  Clara Wellever (possibly adopted), born about 1869 in Pennsylvania [NOTE: recorded as “daughter” in the 1880 census; but the 1900 census says that Catherine had no children].

+    JOHN B.5 AURNER, born 27 October 1833(14);  married Margaret A. Miller;  moved to Buncombe, Sioux, Iowa; then to Chamberlain, Brule, South Dakota; then to Burlington, Kit Carson, Colorado.

+    JACOB W.5 AURNER, born 28 October 1839(14) in Ohio;  married first Emily Jane Freshour;  moved to Sioux County, Iowa; then to Alcester, Union, South Dakota.

Mary Jane5 Aurner, born 19 April 1846 in Kingston, DeKalb, Illinois;  died 09 February 1914 in Alcester, Union, South Dakota (Death Certificate #37854);  married 11 December 1863 in DeKalb County (Book B, page 477) to John Alexander Trude (son of Amos Baker Trude and Phoebe McCray) who was born 29 September 1845 in Clarke, Durham, Ontario, Canada and died 12 October 1915 in Alcester (Death Certificate #43400). He was a farmer. He served as Veterinary Surgeon in Troop C, 17th Illinois Cavalry Regiment during the Civil War. He received an invalid pension (Certificate #774506); Application #954899 filed 23 August 1890 in South Dakota. 1880 Census: Jno Trude, page 072, visit ---/019, Franklin, DeKalb, Illinois. 1910 Census: John A. Trude, page 171, visit 033/033, Alcester village, Union, South Dakota. [He was married second 28 October 1914 at Sioux City, Woodbury, Iowa to Delphene (Juber) Ellsworth.] [Some info from descendant Thomas L. Trude; Trude family biography and photos are on his website.] Mary Jane and John are buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery (external link) in Alcester (Block 1, lot 6). They had six children, two of whom died before the 1910 census. Known children, born in Illinois:

Arthur Guy6 Trude, born 12 June 1868;  died 18 November 1949 in Ouachita County, Arkansas (Book 73, certificate #14441);  married 1890-91 to Mary Adelaide Kniffen (from sons’ Delayed Birth Certificates) who was born about May 1871 in New York and died 04 March 1950 in Ouachita County (Book 15, certificate #2887). Trude, page 270, visit 008/008, Burlington town, Kit Carson, Colorado. 1920 Census: Archie? D. Trude, page 087, visit 082/101, Camden (3rd Ward), Ouachita, Arkansas. 1930 Census: A. G. Trude, page 204, visit 158/163, Camden (3rd Ward), Ouachita, Arkansas. They had five children, two of whom died before the 1900 census. Known children, born at Alcester:

James Alexander7 Trude, born 22 April 1892(17)(40)(also Delayed Birth Certificate #607236);  died January 1975 at Chelsea, Rogers, Oklahoma(17); married 1916-17 to Lola Merrey? (daughter of Jim and Elizabeth Merrey?) who was born about 1889 in Arkansas. He was a carpenter(40). He registered for the WWI Draft at Chelsea [previous service: Private 2 years in Iowa National Guard]. 1930 Census: Jim Trued (with her parents), page 080, visit 146/157, Chelsea town, Rogers, Oklahoma. Known children, born in Oklahoma:  Cleo Trude, born about 1917;  Elizabeth Trude, born about 1919.

William Hobart7 Trude, born 19 July 1896(40)(also Delayed Birth Certificate #661132);  married 1916-17 to Maggie Fay ______ who was born 27 March 1896(17) in Oklahoma and died September 1974 at Crossett, Ashley, Arkansas(17). He was a mason; later a plasterer. He was a WWI veteran. 1920 Census: William H. Trude (with his parents). 1930 Census: W. H. Trude, page 204, visit 157/162, Camden (3rd Ward), Ouachita, Arkansas. Known children:  Olga Sarola? Trude, born about March 1918 in Oklahoma;  Nina G. Trude, born about 1921 in Arkansas;  Saydell? Trude (daughter), born about 1922 in Arkansas.

Asa Decatur6 Trude, born 04 November 1870;  died 15 May 1946 in Hamlin County, South Dakota (Death Certificate #229059);  married 1892-93 to Martha Kniffen (from son’s Delayed Birth Certificate) who was born 06 January 1874 in Iowa and died 28 August 1949 in Hamlin County (Death Certificate #250029).
