September 1813 probably in Towamensing, Northampton (now Carbon), Pennsylvania; died 23 September 1900(14) aged 87 years in Jackson, Huntington, Indiana (Book A-6, page 033); married 1848-49 in Fairfield County, Ohio to Mary Ann Ashbaugh (daughter of Jacob Eschbach/Ashbaugh and Catharine “Lersn?”) who was born 24 February 1826 in Pennsylvania and died 29 February 1912(14) aged 86 years, 05 days in Huntington County (Book A-8, page 066).
He was a farmer. They moved to Indiana in 1853.

[NOTES: The inscription on their gravestone is already close to being illegible (in May 2004), so I actually used the birth and death dates from the France Cemetery webpage posted on the Interment.net website. However, both death dates are confirmed by their death records. The date “16” in John’s birthdate on that transcription page may or may not be right, but September 1813 seems likely to be accurate.]
