Malott and Elizabeth LaMarsh) who was born 23 June 1846 at Kingsville, Essex, Ontario and died 14 July 1921 aged 75 years, 21 days at Windsor, Essex, Ontario (Registration #013200). He was a farmer.

Thrasher (daughter of William Thrasher and Emma Taylor) who was born 26 March 1858 in Colchester South and died 05 September 1924 aged 66 years, 05 months, 10 days at Harrow (Registration #012040). He was a farmer; later a butcher. Charles Frederick7 Arner, born 09 June 1877(17)(40) in Malden (Registration #005084);  died November 1963(17) in Volusia County, Florida, USA(45);  married first 1905-06 to Lena Carrie Deming (daughter of Robert Deming and Addie Henry) who was born 03 October 1884(14) in Leamington, Essex, Ontario and died 1915(14) at Buffalo, Erie, New York, USA;  married second about 1917 to Barbara Irene Cummings who was born 12 February 1891(17)(45) in New York State, USA and died 31 December 1977 in Volusia County(45)[although the SSDI says January 1978 (last residence: Abingdon, Harford, Maryland, USA)(17)]. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1896.

He was a chemist. He founded the Fred C. Arner Chemical Company (later Arner Company, Inc.), a pharmaceutical company. It’s biggest claim to fame was the patented pill coatings that they invented. [From page 836, Municipality of Buffalo, New York: A History, Volume 2, published by Lewis Historical Publishing Company, New York & Chicago, 1923: “The Arner Company, Inc., is stated to have the largest plant in the world devoted exclusively to private formulae. The laboratories are at 291-303 Michigan avenue, and the officers all reside in Buffalo. They are: Fred C. Arner, president; William Amundson, vice-president; William H. Bomka, secretary.”] The company was later known as Strong Cobb Arner, Inc.; they also had plants in Cleveland, Ohio, in New Jersey, and in Canada. [NOTE: “Strong Cobb Arner” (SCA) is still the recognized standard scale for measuring pill hardness.] The company was bought by ICN Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 1968.

Colin F.7 Arner, born 10 October 1878;  died 1935;  married 08 June 1909 at Harrow (Registration #009367) to Sarah J. Pearce (daughter of Thomas and Mary Pearce) who was born about 1888. He was a butcher.

Margaret Emma7 Arner, born 24 April 1880(36) in Malden (Registration #006661);  died 04 June 1959 in Orange County, California, USA(36);  married [second?] 1920s to Charles S. Locknane (his second or later marriage)(son of David Locknane and Clarissa Owen, both born in Kentucky, USA) who was born 12 February 1869 in Granada, Nemaha, Kansas, USA(36) and died 27 January 1950 in Orange County(36). He was an insurance inspector. 1930 U.S. Census: Charles S. Locknane, page 097, line 74, Kansas City (E.D. 199), Jackson, Missouri. No children with them in 1930.

Cooke H.7 Arner, born 20 November 1881(40) in Malden (Registration #007369);  married 11 January 1905 at Windsor, Essex, Ontario to Grace L. Barnett (daughter of John Barnett and Adelia Fox) who was born 17 August 1882 at Windsor. They emigrated to the U.S. in April 1911. He was a butcher; he later owned a grocery store. He registered for the WWI Draft at Buffalo, Erie, New York. 1930 U.S. Census: Cooke H. Arner, page 132, visit 079/104, Buffalo (E.D. 289), Erie, New York, USA.

Louie Mae7 Arner, born 08 May 1886 at Harrow (Delayed Birth Registration #901019; recorded 1955 at Harrow). [NOTE: Recorded as “Ella” in 1911; single, with parents.]

Edward7 Arner, born 11 July 1889 in Gosfield South (Registration #008120);  died 19 February 1950;  married 21 September 1921 at Stratford, Perth, Ontario (Registration #018105) to Eythelwyn Edgecombe (daughter of George Seymour Edgecombe and Mary Ann Clark) who was born about 1897 at Great Falls, Cascade, Montana, USA and died 23 June 1966. He was a drover. They are buried at Christ Church Cemetery at Colchester village. Known child:  Jane Arner, born 1926, married Douglas VanDoorn.

Bertha Belle7 Arner, born 08 February 1891 (Registration #011805);  married after the 1911 census to Arthur C. Flentge. They are buried at Christ Church Cemetery in Colchester.

Archie7 Arner, born 08 January 1893 at Harrow (Registration #007240);  died June 1946;  married after the 1911 census to Carmen Staddon who was born 1898.

Hugh7 Arner, born 20 October 1899 at Harrow;  died 17 November 1980 in Colchester;  married 28 September 1918 at Windsor, Essex, Ontario (Registration #008403) to Mary Mabel Bondy (daughter of Joseph Bondy and Annie Brush) who was born about 1899 at Harrow.

Wilhelmina Jenette6 Arner, born 28 July 1865;  died 03 February 1938;  married 03 July 1895 in Malden, Essex, Ontario (Registration #003082) to Herbert Arthur Ferriss (his second marriage)(son of Philip Ferriss and Sarah Eleanor Little) who was born 10 July 1851 in Ontario and died 17 November 1934. Augusta M.6 Arner, born 26 May 1869;  died 22 April 1943 at Toledo, Lucas, Ohio (Death Certificate #25439, Volume 10331);  married 11 May 1896 in Malden (Registration #003278) to James Sidney C. Walker (son of James and Emma Walker, both born in Ireland) who was born about August 1868 in the “West India Islands” (from marriage record).
