History of Schlosser's Church.
The first Reformed Church, of logs, built 1755.
Became a Union Church 1795.
Second church building erected 1797.
Current church building erected 1871.
The Lutheran congregation recently built a separate church, north of the new cemetery.
[A far more detailed history of the church, written by David Semmel]
First Arner members: Felix2 and Elisabetha Arner.
[possibly founding members; but certainly very early.]

Another photo of the church (from Judy McElderry).
Photos of the gravestone of Felix2 Arner, 1727-1777, (the oldest known surviving Arner family gravestone in America):
The front. [Most of the inscription is slightly more readable in this photo, but a few letters here and there are more readable in the next photo.]
The front from another angle. [This is like looking at the stone from different angles, just as you would do if you were there, trying to read the inscription.]
NOTE: Felix is buried in the old section of the cemetery, across State Route 873, just to the north of the UCC Church. His gravestone is in the seventeenth row, the second stone from the right, under a lone tree, near Neffs-Laurys Road.
A photo to help you locate Felix’s gravestone. [Felix’s stone is the second from the right, just in front of the tree (from this angle).]
A transcription and translation of the inscription on Felix’s gravestone (from Jeff Minnich).
Higher resolution versions of the photos of the front of Felix’s gravestone, suitable for printing enlargements:
[NOTE: Each of these files is about 1½ Mb in size; takes about 4 minutes to download via a dial-up connection; and will print a 4"x6" picture at 300dpi (or an 8"x12" picture at 150dpi, etc)]
