Paulus Krumm (son of Johann Jacob Krumm and Elsna Baum), born in Germany;  died in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania;  married 08 April 1725 at Pfuhl (Bad Marienberg) in Hesse-Nassau, Germany to Anna Maria Lupp (daughter of Bäst Lupp and Anna Catherina Schell, of Pfuhl). [Much info on this family from descendant (and Arner descendant) Judy McElderry.]

He came to America, with three of his sons and one or two other family members, on the ship Rowand which arrived at Philadelphia on 29 September 1753. The three sons all settled in Heidelberg, Bucks (now Lehigh), Pennsylvania.

[More info on this family in Germany can be found in Westerwald to America: Some 18th Century German Immigrants, Annette Kunselman Burgert and Henry Z. Jones, Jr., published by Picton Press, Camden, Maine, 1989.]

Known children, baptized at Bad Marienberg:

Johann Theis Krumm, baptized “Dom. 3 Epiph.” 1726 [See NOTE, below];  married to Gertrude ______. They came to America on the ship Richmond which sailed from Rotterdam and arrived at Philadelphia on 05 October 1763. Known child:  Johann Jacob Krumm, born 11 October and baptized 18 October 1767 (recorded at Host Reformed Church in Tulpehocken, Berks, Pennsylvania).

Johann Jacob Krumm, baptized “Dom. 2 Epiph.” 1730 [See NOTE, below].

+    (CAPTAIN) JOHANNES KRUMM, born 14 April 1734;  married Anna Margaretha [?Ruebsamen].

+    (LIEUTENANT) CHRISTIAN KRUMM, born 20 August 1738;  married Anna Maria Neff.

+    JOHANN FRANTZ KRUMM, born 02 May 1742;  married Magdalena ______;  moved to Menallen, Adams, Pennsylvania.

NOTE: In a churchbook in Germany, I would expect “Dom.” to mean Sunday, and “Epiph.” to mean 06 January (The Feast of the Epiphany), but I’m not sure what “Dom. 3 Epiph.” means. 06 January 1726 was a Sunday, so it can’t mean the third day before or after. It might mean the third Sunday in January, or possibly the third Sunday after Epiphany.
