This obituary was published in the Ryan Leader newspaper of Ryan, Jefferson County., Oklahoma.

“Funeral rites for Isaac Frank Arner, Pioneer resident of Ryan were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday April 26, 1967, in the First Methodist Church in Ryan. Mr Arner died at 4 a.m. Monday April 25, in the Waurika hospital after suffering a stroke at his home. He was 84.

Officiating was John Baker minister of the Ryan Church of Christ, assisted by Dr. K.T. Melugin, Methodist pastor. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Grantham Funeral Home.

Born Jan. 15, 1883 in Arkansas, he moved with his parents in his boyhood to the Ryan vicinity where he had lived ever since. He became a member of the Methodist church as a young man.

In 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Missouri Ann Thompson and to this union seven children were born, one of whom died in Infancy. He was employed for years as a wholesale and retail jobber for the Pierce Oil and Gas Company, and later owned and operated a service station here. He retired a number of years ago. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Mrs. J. W. Ewing and Mrs. T. W. Castleberry, both of Big Springs, Texas; four sons, Ted of Houston, Texas; A. L. of Odessa, Texas; Franklin T. of Big Springs, Texas and Thomas Earl of the home. One sister, Mrs. Bill West of Overton, Texas; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were: Leo Gillum, Bob Dunham, Dennis Martin, C.B. Barrett, Jerry Shelton and Bob Givens.
