Purpose. This website consists of
four interconnected one-name studies. It is designed to be primarily a research
aid for anybody searching for an Arner, Erner, Orner,
Urner ancestor or early relative, not to be a complete genealogy of any
of these families. (In many cases, it is the best genealogy available;
but that is not guaranteed for all family lines.) This site contains exceptions
to every rule; but as a general rule, the self-imposed limitations of this site
are:
1. Only the Arner, Erner, Orner, Urner (and variations) surname
lines are carried forward more than one generation.
2. It only contains biographical information for people born
before about 1920.
[NOTE: These limitations
don’t apply for my own Erner family, which is also part of another separate
project.]
NOTES:
Family pages are color-coded (see below) depending on the surname
of the immigrant ancestor, not on how the family’s name is spelled now.
All Source Extracts also include some individuals who are
probably not members of any of these families.
