Whichever Michael Orner it was, was badly injured in a wagon accident while on bullock guard, and was mustered out as unfit for service in March 1778 (page 31, Pension Lists of 1792-1795, compiled by Murtie June Clark, published by Genealogical Publishing Company, Baltimore, Maryland, 1996).
The Michael Orner who served in the Revolution applied for an invalid pension in 1794, residence given as Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania (Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files, abstracted by Virgil D. White, published by National Historical Publishing Company, Waynesboro, Tennessee, 1990). He appears on the Pension Lists of 1796 (in the District of Pennsylvania), 1815 [“Pennsylvania, dead, last payment Mar 4, 1807”], and 1835 [Philadelphia, 15.00 annual allowance, no further information, no notation of death, which may be for a widow’s or dependent’s pension].
They lived in the East Part of Northern Liberties, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he is probably the Michael Horner, laborer, on the Tax Lists in 1779, 1780 and 1781 (PA:3:14:659; and 3:15:099,481,670)(B). On the 1782 List, he appears as Michael Arner (PA:3:16:513)(B).
