Anna Elisabetha2 Orner (Jacob1), born probably mid-to-late 1720s; died (buried 22 July) 1785 (Pastoral Records of Rev. Abraham Blumer) presumably in Heidelberg, Northampton (now Washington, Lehigh), Pennsylvania [although Rev. Blumer’s records don’t specify the location]; married 16 May 1749 “in Christoph Raben’s residence”(3) in Whitemarsh, Philadelphia (now Montgomery), Pennsylvania [although her husband Jacob’s gravestone says 16 May “1746”(6)] to Bernhard Jacob Rex who was born 05 April 1724(6) in Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died 24 April 1802 in Heidelberg, Northampton (now Washington, Lehigh), Pennsylvania(6).
[Jacob was the son of Johann Georg Rueger/Rex who was born May (or June(C)) 1682 in Germany, died 18 October 1772 in Heidelberg (now Washington) Township(C), married to Barbara _______ who died 1762. Rex genealogy is also on Troy D. Wood’s website.]
Jacob received a tract of 276 acres from his father on 20 December 1749 and built a house on it in 1752. Also see Northampton Land Warrant, 02 November 1757 (PA:3:26:155)(B); and Lehigh County Land Draft #1061 [undated (for land north of the Heidelberg Church)].
On 15 July 1756, they were baptismal sponsors for Elizabeth Arner, daughter of Felix and Elizabetha Arner [recorded at Egypt Reformed Church in Whitehall, Northampton (now Lehigh), Pennsylvania]. [NOTE: This appears to be just a wild coincidence, but it’s possible (but unlikely) that there was a connection between the Arner and Orner families.]
He served in the 6th (Captain Mathias Probst’s) Company, 6th Militia Battalion of Northampton County during the Revolutionary War(6)(also PA:5:8:451,512(B)).
His will (Northampton Will Book 4, page 095) was signed 24 December 1801 and proved 16 June 1802. He is buried at Heidelberg Union Church, in the old graveyard just south of the church [under the tree beside Church Road, the third gravestone to the north]. [His gravestone: photo 1, photo 2.]
