NOTES: The extracts also include all other persons that were recorded under the surnames
Arner, Aurner, Erner, Orner or Urner (unless their real surname is known).
They also include some Ahner and Auner families, but only those who are known or
believed to be descendants of the Arner family.
Beginning with the 1900 census, recent immigrants (after about 1880 or so) are listed
only in the “Recent Immigrants” extracts.
The dividing lines in the later extracts are:
PA: approximately the eastern 25% and western 75% of the state [See map below].
All Other States: the Mississippi River.
