August Urner, born about 1822 in Silesia [now part of Poland], Prussia, Germany;  married first 03 February 1857 in Austin County, Texas to Yetchen Muller;  married second by 1870 in Austin County, Texas to Henrietta Listo who was born about 1838 in Oldenburg, Germany.

He came to America on the ship Friedrich Grosse which sailed from Bremen and arrived at Galveston, Texas on 18 October 1853. He was a farmer.

Johanna Urner, born about 1858. On 17 May 1880, (Fraulein) Johanna “Orner” [single] was a godparent for Friedrich Johann Heinrich Lüdecke, son of Christian Lüdecke and Anna Techeck, who was baptized at Cat Spring (Records of Trinity Lutheran Church at Frelsburg, Colorado, Texas).

Augusta Urner, born about 1862;  married to ______ Hoff.

Clara Urner, born 1868(9);  died 1944(9);  married 1890-91 to Ferdinand A. Freitag (his second marriage)(son of August Freitag) who was born 1850(9) in Prussia, Germany and died 1937(9). He was a farmer. [His family came to America in 1880 (from 1930 census). He had five daughters from a previous marriage.] 1900 Census: Ferdinand Freitag, page 096, visit 033/033, Justice Precinct #4, Waller, Texas. 1910 Census: Ferdinand Freitag, page 276, visit 316/337, Sunny Side village, Waller, Texas. 1920 Census: F. A. Freithe, sheet 02A, visit 037/039, Justice Precinct #4, Waller, Texas. 1930 Census: F. A. Freitag, page 255, visit 153/160, Justice Precinct #4, Waller, Texas. They are buried at Carrington Cemetery near Monaville, Waller, Texas. [According to the censuses, they had four other children born and died 1900s.] Known children, born in Texas:

Ferdinand Freitag, born 29 February 1896(14);  died 16 March 1967 at Brookshire, Waller, Texas(14);  married 1922-23 to Inez Halbison who was born 17 February 1896(14) in Texas and died 30 July 1979(14) in Austin County, Texas. He was an automobile mechanic. He was a WWI veteran. 1930 Census: Fred Freitag, page 266, visit 048/053, Brookshire town, Waller, Texas. No children with them in 1930.

Otto August Freitag, born 06 July 1897(14);  died 04 September 1971(14) in Leon County, Texas;  married first after the 1920 census to ________? who was born in Texas;  married second 1927-28 to Dorothy Smith who was born about 1911 in Texas, possibly later divorced. He was a route manager for a dairy company. 1930 Census: Otto Freitag, page 126, visit 066/066, Houston (E.D. 026), Harris, Texas. Known child with first wife:  Otto August Freitag, born 05 June 1923(14), died 16 November 2003 at Hempstead, Waller, Texas(14), married Ollie Mae Kolaja. Known children with second wife:  Betty Joyce Freitag, born 16 February 1930;  Dolores Jean Freitag, born 11 June 1933.

Willie Bill Freitag, born 21 December 1903(14);  died 30 July 1979 at Houston, Harris, Texas(14);  married to Lucille (Styers) Mannix (her second marriage) who was born about 1889 in Texas. He was a farmer. 1930 Census: Willie Freitag, page 257, visit 192/202, Justice Precinct #4, Waller, Texas. Known children:  Louis Freitag, twin, born 08 June 1928;  Larrine Wood Freitag, twin, born 08 June 1928.

Erwin Alvin Freitag, born 16 January 1907(14);  died 01 March 1981 at Hempstead, Waller, Texas(14);  married 1927-28 to Olga Alma Dreahn who was born 06 June 1905(14) in Texas and died 25 October 1997 at Hempstead(14). Apparently 1930 Census: “Earnest” Freitag, page 215, visit 046/049, Hempstead [village], Waller, Texas. Known child:  Erwin Freitag, born 04 December 1929.

Theodore Freitag, born 18 January 1913(14); died 18 September 1989 at Hempstead(14). 1930 Census: (with parents).

Carl Urner, born about September 1870;  married about 1901 to Amelia (Andrisek) Janda (her second marriage)(daughter of John and Rosalia Andrisek, both born in Bohemia, Austria) who was born about May 1875 in Austria. 1900 Census: Charles Urner (single, with brother-in-law Ferdinand Freitag, above), page 096, visit 033/033, Justice Precinct #4, Waller, Texas. [She apparently had five children with her first husband.] Known child:

Alvin Urner, born 07 January 1902(14);  died 03 February 1982 at Wharton, Wharton, Texas(14);  married about 1924 to Lillie Victoria ______ who was born 26 August 1904(14) and died 10 July 1992 at Wharton(14). William Urner, born about June 1874;  married 1894-95 to Anna Louise Scheure/Schire who was born about March 1877 in Germany. Known children:

William Robert Urner, born 28 January 1897(14)(17);  died 22 September 1980(14) in Travis County, Texas;  married about 1920 to Edna O. Hemingway who was born 08 January 1901(14) in Texas and died 11 September 1994 at Smithville(14). He was a farmer. He was a WWI veteran; he registered for the Draft in Bastrop County. 1930 Census: William Urner, page 199, visit 167/170, Justice Precinct #5, Fayette, Texas. They had no children.

Lydia Urner, born about February 1898;  married and had two children.

Louisa Urner, born about March 1899;  never married.

Arnold Richard Urner, born 26 April 1902(14);  died 11 April 1971 at Smithville(14)[recorded as “single” in Bastrop County death records];  married to Estelle Gertrude Baker who was born 13 August 1906(14) and died 10 August 1992 at Smithville(14). They had one daughter, born 30 November 1940 in Travis County, Texas.

Theodore W. Urner, born 14 January 1915(14);  died 30 June 1975(14) in Travis County, Texas;  married Leola ______. They had no children.
