Elizabeth3 Urner (Jacob2, Ulrich1), born 1724 in Hanover, Philadelphia (now Pottsgrove, Montgomery), Pennsylvania;  died 1757 in Chester County, Pennsylvania;  married to Jacob Frick who was born 23 March 1717 in Switzerland(H) and died 09 March 1799(9) in Tredyffrin, Chester, Pennsylvania. He was a wheelwright.

[Jacob came to America as a youth on the ship Pennsylvania Merchant which sailed from Rotterdam and arrived at Philadelphia on 18 September 1733. He was the brother of John Frick of Upper Milford, Bucks (now Lehigh), Pennsylvania, who was baptized in 1735 by Martin Urner, Senior and served as the second minister of the Greatswamp Church of the Brethren for over twenty years even though he had never been ordained(B). Jacob Frick settled near the Jacob Urner family, one mile east of present-day Pottstown.]

Sometime after Elizabeth died, the family moved to Tredyffrin Township in the Chester Valley where they lived about two miles from Valley Forge(F). Jacob was a taxpayer in Tredyffrin by 1774(5). The British and Hessian armies encamped on their farm after the Battle of Brandywine in 1777(F). Biography from County History(A), posted on the Chester County GenWeb site.

[Jacob was married second to Catherine Miller, daughter of John Miller of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.]

Jacob’s will (Chester Will Book K or 10, page 79), which was signed 16 January 1793 and proved 19 March 1799, mentions [second] wife Catherine; daughters Elizabeth, Susanna, Hannah and Anna; son John; daughters Christiana, Mary and Rebecca; and sons-in-law John Rinehart and Nathaniel Jones.

He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery at Parker Ford, Chester, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth is buried at Coventry Brethren Graveyard in North Coventry, Chester, Pennsylvania.

His known children, born in Hanover (now Pottsgrove), birth order not known [some of whom are children of his second wife]:

Elizabeth4 Frick, born about 1742(9);  died 07 September 1826 in Union Bridge, Carroll, Maryland;  married first 1762 to Jacob Switzer;  married second about 1767 to Abraham Crumbacker (son of Johannes and Elizabeth Grumbacher) who was born 22 October 1744 in Chester County and died 22 February 1795 in Frederick (now Carroll) County, Maryland. 1790 Census: Abraham Crumbecker, page 058, locality not stated, Frederick, Maryland. Abraham’s will, which was proved 01 April 1795 in Frederick County, mentions children Peter, Mary, Jacob, Abraham, Jonas and John. They are buried at Wolf’s Cemetery at Union Bridge, Carroll, Maryland. Children with second husband, all but the first born in Frederick (now Carroll) County:  John Crumbacker, born 07 January 1768 in Chester County, died 1840 in Columbiana County, Ohio, married Barbara Myers;  Hannah Crumbacker, born 10 August 1772, died 15 September 1793;  Abraham Crumbacker, born 25 September 1774, died 26 August 1817, married Margaret Senseney;  Jacob Crumbacker, born 12 December 1776, died 01 September 1852;  Peter Crumbacker, born 28 January 1778, died 14 October 1829, married to Ann Elizabeth Plaine who was born 05 February 1777 in Frederick County and died 18 October 1856, they are buried at Wolf’s Cemetery;  Elizabeth Crumbacker, born 06 March 1780, died 08 January 1781;  Jonas Crumbacker, born 08 April 1782, died 22 August 1854 in Ohio County, West Virginia, married 10 May 1809 to Deborah Hubbs;  David Crumbacker, born 06 January 1784, died 06 February 1786;  Mary Crumbacker, born 25 July 1788, died 08 May 1847, married 11 July 1805 to Thomas John Hammond who was born 1777 and died 1844.

Susanna4 Frick, born about 1848?;  married to David Zublin(F) who was born 27 September 1745 and died 10 April 1803 in Vincent, Chester, Pennsylvania. Children, possibly not in correct birth order:  John Zublin, born 01 April 1774, died 15 June 1847 in Chester County, married first to Mary Davis(F), married second to Elizabeth Hines(F) who was born 25 June 1797;  David Zublin, died unmarried(F);  Susanna Zublin, born about 1780, died 19 March 1860 in West Vincent, Chester, Pennsylvania, married first to Henry Pennypacker(F) who was born about 1769 and died 04 March 1820, married second to Valentine Pennypacker(F) (his second marriage) who was born about 1784 in Pennsylvania and died 09 July 1851;  Elizabeth Zublin, died unmarried(F);  Abraham Zublin, born 30 July 1788, married to Esther Reinhart(F).

Anna4 Frick, married to John Neilor. They moved to West Pikeland, Chester, Pennsylvania. Children(F):  Samuel Neilor, married to Sarah Evans;  Jacob Neilor;  George Neilor, married to Ellen Sturgis;  James Neilor, died unmarried;  Rebecca Neilor, married to William Wagonseller;  Hannah Neilor, died unmarried;  Mary Neilor, married to James Rice;  Elizabeth Neilor, married to John Evans;  Nancy Neilor, married first to Malachi Harris, married second to Jacob Clemens;  Martha Neilor, married to John Schafer.

John4 Frick, born 08 April 1757(H);  died 24 March 1822(H) in East Coventry;  married first 1780 to Susanna Bartlett(H);  married second about 1784 to Catherine Grumbacker(H) (daughter of Peter Crumbacker and Catherine Pfoutz) who was born 05 March 1766 in Coventry and died 25 July 1804. He served as a private during the Revolutionary War(H). He was a farmer. Children(F), most or all with second wife:  Peter Frick, born 25 April 1782, died 17 December 1815, unmarried;  Jacob Frick, born 15 September 1784, died 08 March 1852, married to Mary Sower (daughter of David Sauer) who was born 01 August 1787 and died 09 April 1857, he was a farmer and a trader, biography of son John, posted on the Chester County GenWeb site;  Hannah Frick, born 15 September 1784, died July 1863, married to Samuel Bartlett who was born 04 May 1799 and died March 1845;  John Frick, born 16 April 1787, died 10 April 1852 in West Vincent, Chester, Pennsylvania, married to Sarah Dunn (daughter of Philip Dunn) who was born 29 November 1796 and died 05 January 1871, he was a farmer;  Susanna Frick, born 17 April 1790, died 11 October 1843, married 01 November 1810 to Mark Evans who was born 19 September 1787 and also died 11 October 1843 during a dysentery epidemic, he was a farmer;  Elizabeth Frick, born 13 January 1793, married to Jesse Jones;  (Honorable) Benjamin Frick, born 28 April 1796, died 04 October 1871, married to Eleanor Davis (the adopted daughter of Amos Davis and Mary Evans) who was born 13 February 1792 and died 07 May 1836, he was a merchant in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, he served as a Pennsylvania State Senator;  Catharine Frick, born 14 August 1798, died 07 February 1884, married to George Baugh who was born 17 October 1797 and died 22 April 1865, he was a farmer and a storekeeper.

Christiana4 Frick, married first to Enoch Jones;  married second to Nathaniel Jones. Her known children(F):  Kitty Jones, married Alexander Henderson;  Joshua Jones, married Nancy Davis;  James Jones, married ELIZABETH6 RINEHART;  Hannah Jones, married _____ Abrams;  Elizabeth Jones, died unmarried;  Sarah Jones, died unmarried;  Ann Jones, married David Switzer, they moved to Carroll County, Maryland.

Mary4 Frick, born 04 July 1776;  died 31 December 1843;  married 02 March 1790 to Nathaniel Miles (son of Nathaniel Niles and Hannah Jones) who was born 20 August 1776 and died 07 October 1848. Children, probably not in correct birth order:  Nathaniel Miles, born 10 July 1795, died 19 November 1866,  married 23 January 1818 to Sarah Philips who was born 18 April 1797 and died 19 April 1854;  Rebecca Miles, born about 1797, married 04 December 1820 to Moses V. Williams;  Jacob Miles(F);  John Miles(F);  Joseph Miles, born 27 July 1802, married about 1827 to Mary Ann Fritz who was born 01 January 1805 in Chester County, they later moved to New York;  James Miles, died unmarried(F);  Catharine Miles, married to Willis Davis(F);  Sarah Miles, died unmarried(F);  Hannah Miles, married to John Sines;  Eliza Miles, married to Thomas Grover(F).
