Mary3 Urner (Martin2, Ulrich1), died 27 September 1747(9);  married to Andrew Wolff who died in Frederick (now Carroll) County, Maryland at the age of ninety-four(F).

He came to America on the ship Pink Plaisance which arrived in Philadelphia on 21 September 1732. He may have been from Sinsheim, Germany [which is a little southeast of Heidelberg].

He owned a farm called Wolf’s Hole that was south of and adjacent to her father’s Belwood farm(F). He was a taxpayer in Coventry until at least 1769(5). He is on the list of members of the Coventry Church of the Brethren in 1770(G). He and his sons moved to Frederick (now Carroll) County, Maryland, some of them possibly as early as 1770, where they were active in organizing the Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren (The Brethren Encyclopedia: under “Pipe Creek, MD”). [NOTE: There also were other Wolfe families in Frederick and Washington Counties, Maryland, including at least one other that was also active in the Church of the Brethren.]

She is buried at the Coventry Brethren Graveyard. He is buried at Wolf’s Cemetery [which was named after him] near the Pipe Creek Church, but there is no gravestone(F). [NOTE: Wolf’s Cemetery is on Quaker Hill Road, south of Union Bridge, Carroll, Maryland.]

Known children:

John4 Wolfe. He was a taxpayer in Coventry by 1765; as a married tenant until 1767; listed with the occupation of “skinner” in 1768(5). He is not on the Coventry tax lists after 1769(5). Possibly the John Woolf on page 175, locality not stated, Frederick County, Maryland in the 1800 Census. According to Isaac N. Urner’s book, he had “many descendants in Washington County, Maryland” in 1893(F).

Andrew4 Wolfe, lived [and presumably died] near Uniontown, Carroll, Maryland(F). He was a taxpayer in Coventry by 1765; listed as unmarried until 1771(5). He is not on the later Coventry tax lists(5). [NOTE: The Andrew Wolf in the 1790 Census in Frederick County, Maryland appears to belong to a different Wolfe family.] Probably 1800 Census: Andrew Woolf, page 190, locality not stated, Frederick, Maryland. Probably 1810 Census: A. Wolf, page 241, locality not stated, Frederick, Maryland. He is buried at Wolf’s Cemetery, but there is no inscription on his gravestone(F). Known child:

Martin5 Wolfe, born 21 December 1782 in Pennsylvania.

+    Martin4 Wolfe, married Juliana Heckman.

Martin4 Wolfe, married to Juliana Heckman who was born about 1750.

He was a taxpayer in Coventry by 1768; listed as unmarried until 1771; still on the Coventry tax list in 1781(5). They moved to Pipe Creek, Maryland in 1783 with David and Mary4 (Urner) Reinhart.

1790 Census: Martin Wolfe, page 058, locality not stated, Frederick, Maryland.

[NOTE: However, the Martin Woolf on page 189, locality not stated, Frederick, Maryland in the 1800 Census and the M. Wolf on page 241, locality not stated, Frederick, Maryland in the 1810 Census, seems more likely to be a son of his brother John.]
